Summer is here! A Lavender Citrus scent for the Skin and Soul

Summer is here. In this season, I naturally reach for scents that feel lighter and cleaner, on both skin and in the air around me. Citruses especially inspire me—the fresh sensation, the brightness, and the quiet energy they bring. This lavender citrus blend grew out of that: one simple fragrance that can be worn on the body or misted into a room.

At the center is one of my favorite oils, lavender 40/42, a balanced, classic lavender that smells clean and softly floral without being too sharp or too sweet. Lavender like this is closely tied to growing regions in France and the wider Mediterranean, and it gives the blend a calm, familiar core. Once the initial citrus brightness settles, it’s the lavender that stays and gently shapes how the scent feels on skin and in space.

Around that core, I built a bouquet of citrus and green notes. The lemon is Sicilian—bright, zesty, and a little more aromatic than a generic lemon note. It brings clear, fresh lift at the very first spray. Sweet orange, from citrus-growing regions such as Brazil, Mexico, Spain, and the Mediterranean, rounds it out. Where lemon feels like cut rind, sweet orange feels like peeled fruit, softening the blend so it reads as friendly and wearable instead of sharp.

Lemongrass is the green line that runs through everything. Often distilled in South and Southeast Asia, it smells citrus-like with a grassy, sweet, almost tea-like edge. In this formula, it extends the fresh feeling of the lemon and orange and adds a modern “clean” character so the scent doesn’t collapse into just lavender plus citrus. Instead, it moves smoothly from bright to herbal to soft.

On skin, the story is straightforward. The first impression is citrus-forward: the lemon, sweet orange, and lemongrass show up quickly with a clear, refreshing and energyzing  effect that feels very comfortable in warm weather. As the minutes pass, the lavender steps forward, smoothing the edges and adding a quiet, clean floral note. The overall result is a light, simple summer fragrance that sits close to the body and doesn’t overwhelm—easy to wear during the day, or any time you prefer something fresh and unfussy.

In a space, the same blend shifts slightly. As a room or linen mist, the citrus and lemongrass naturally stand out more, making a room feel fresher and more open with just a few sprays. The lavender stays in the background, softening the profile so it smells like a lightly scented, clean space rather than a strong air freshener. On bedding or towels, the combination of Mediterranean lavender, Sicilian lemon, lemongrass from tropical regions, and sweet orange from global citrus orchards creates a quiet atmosphere that supports rest and focus without feeling heavy. It is especially good on your pillow—before you meditate, before you sleep, or really any time you want a quick reset in your space.

What I appreciate about my Natural Sprays, is that it doesn’t need separate formulas to move between skin and home. It’s one composition that adapts depending on how you use it: a fresh, clean summer scent on the body, and a light, breathable refresh for the air and fabrics around you.

Lavender Citrus is my number one travel companion, so everywhere I go feels like home.
